New Zealand education is a lot better, there are good teachers everywhere even in crap schools, schools help families financially, it’s cheaper, and we have some of the best universities in the world eg. Auckland University is in the top 1% of the world. References :
There are all sorts of differences but to help you along you should look at the decile system used in NZ. This, loosely, translates to the socioeconomic level of the parents and the community the school is in. Put simply, a low income/decile school is likely to need extra help and funding so, in theory, the government provides extra financial support to those schools. That is a very simple explanation and not very technical though. Funding comes from the Government, not through property taxes.
